The challenge
Lev You Lots is an online guidebook to my local community, to help people find places to go, or things to do in Levenshulme, Manchester.
I started Lev You Lots as personal side project to consolidate my experience in Content Design, as well as develop my web design and development skills. But it quickly developed into a small, early business model.
How I approached it
- carried out comparator analysis with the likes of Google, TripAdvisor, HappyCow, WhatPub and more
- developed taxonomy and category roadmap, with scalability and futureproofing in mind
- designed logo, branding and visual components in Figma
- created and implemented design system as a custom WordPress theme
- developed an automated process to let businesses submit their own events and businesses to the website
- created all the website content, such as UI, listings, news, as well as social media content
The result
Since launching in November 2021, Lev You Lots attracted a strong viewership and interest from several local businesses:
- 15,500 views
- 20 automated listing creations
- improved organic SEO performance every month
- developed a roadmap to scale the product
